a sunday sigh

when you are away from your family and your husband sends you a photo
filled with cuteness - that is most certainly 'a sunday sigh'......

whispers of freedom and unplanned stitches......

I can't begin to tell you how satisfyingly delightful the last 7 days have been, they have brought a calming wave of contentment as I have escaped into my own little world making bits and bobs...taking time out in the garden....just sitting in the house an denjoying a quiet moment with a brew and a little tower of books...a visit to York car boot (my favourite and most giddy place to shop).  Escaping into a self indulgent world happens very little - but when it does I appreciate every whisper of freedom and every stitch unplanned.  I will not bamble you with over excited words but just leave you with snapshots of how a little period of time has been seen through my eyes.....

a travelling.....

JULY 5TH - GUILDFORD

Off on my travels again from North to South.....I will be exhibiting with The Linen Garden (old fabrics and haberdashery)
and a collection of my floral  makings too
and also with Jane from Tea with Ruby
with our little joint venture of meandering treasures

Would be wonderful to see you there - leave a comment if you are going - it will be lovely to meet you. xxx

a sunday sigh

...this pretty watercolour moved into the house this weekend - I bet
it can tell some stories through its travels before it reached my abode.
I will cherish it forever.

the making table

I have been trying to make some form of wall garland for the house for a while...been spending five minutes here and there and then placing little snippets of compositions away in a bowl as I never have much time for 'play'.
Then last week I took them all out from hiding and spent a couple of hours making a few more and it all got a little out of control.  So not only have I made a little metre or two for myself...but have made a small gathering for The Linen Garden shop too....

...and here is how my week has looked on the ol' making table....you may want to make a coffee there are a fair few images....

....and now I have decided to make some more - or maybe they will just hang around on the wall for a while being rather cheery....

...there is a new Home Sweet Home section to The Linen Garden Shop if you fancy a little interior indulgence...

a sunday sigh

....whether bought, cheekily snipped from the hedgerow or hand picked from the garden - there is always a small posy or a towering vase of flowers in the house...this weekend I rescued an armful of snippets from the rain and treated myself to a small bunch of sweet william from the market....brightened up a rather dull weekend.
